HOT WHEELS Infinite Rush Infinite Rush Islands
Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville, Drifty Temples, plus the Launcher that throws you between them.
Infinite Rush does not send you through a menu of orange tracks in a giant human backyard. Milestone built four freely explorable islands at die-cast scale: cities, beaches, deserts, and temples sized for Hot Wheels, with plastic loops and oversized creatures. You begin in Wheelswood and use the Launcher (a ramp that becomes a teleport) to jump the rest of the archipelago. This page is the geography briefing for an upcoming game (launch September 10, 2026; Ultimate Early Access September 7). It is not a 100% collectible map, because those pin counts are not public.
The four launch islands are Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville, and Drifty Temples. Official marketing has also shown a Citypark logo. When art and Milestone copy disagree on a nickname, this wiki uses Tentacle Bay. Isola Ferrari is part of the Ferrari Expansion: in Ultimate Edition, or sold separately, and post-launch, not a fifth map on day one. See editions and the roadmap. If you have not driven yet, start with Getting Started. If you know the skyline and still lose events, the problem is probably class: Rush Squad and vehicle classes.
Wheelswood
Wheelswood is the Hollywood-like metropolis: long straightaways, towering skyscrapers, and narrow side streets. Preview footage puts a King Kong-style gorilla in the sky. This is where the tutorial ends. Speeders like the avenues. Drifters like the alleys. Titans make a statement through smashable street clutter. Versatiles keep mixed events playable.
Treat the first hour as orientation. Find a Launcher ramp. Take a Daredevil if one crosses your bumper; skip vacuuming every Tourist prompt. Wheelswood’s Rush Master is the first island boss you will hear about, not a fight you should queue before boost and squad swaps are automatic. See the Rush Master guide and challenges guide.
Tentacle Bay
Tentacle Bay is the coastal island: sandy beaches, green parks, crystal water, a rocky stretch, and an archaeological park. Milestone copy frames it as a more relaxed, nature-dominated setting. Preview coverage also describes a city that nature has started to take back. If you see Citypark on a logo or UI mock, this is the same place in press terms.
Parks and waterfronts break the Wheelswood habit of holding boost down a canyon of glass. Bring a Drifter for the curved waterfront, a Versatile for mixed routes, a Speeder for coastal roads, and a Titan if smash icons sit on the rocks.
Gearville
Gearville is the harsh desert island: deep canyons, industrial excavation, massive factories, heavy machinery, and orange track curling through all of it. This is the map that looks most like a construction playset left in the sun. Preview notes call out larger-than-life orange pieces and oversized plastic creatures you dodge instead of admire.
Canyon walls punish a Speeder that never brakes. Factory pits are Titan country if the event is a smash, and Drifter country if it is a gated drift. Learn one Launcher in and one out. Do not assume desert means only Titans.
Drifty Temples
Drifty Temples is the East Asian twilight island: neon streets, cherry trees, water canals, temples, and a giant dragon watching the map. Mad Manga is the Rush Master car shown in that Japan-inspired context. The other official boss cars (Rig Storm, 2017 Aston Martin Vulcan, Sharkruiser) have been shown without a confirmed island-by-island assignment on this wiki.
Canals and temple approaches are not Wheelswood avenues. If you arrive with only a Speeder, you will understand the controls page the hard way. Swap to the Drifter when the road folds, keep a Speeder for neon straights, and do not retire the Titan because the postcard looks delicate.
The Launcher, and what is not a launch island
The four islands connect through the Launcher, a ramp/teleport system that lets you jump between them at any time rather than loading a world map from a pause menu. Preview coverage describes ramps that send you into the sky (and a loading screen) before you land in the next environment. Learn the ramps the way you would learn a metro: one reliable station per island is enough for week one.
Isola Ferrari is not on that metro at launch. The Ferrari Expansion adds a Ferrari-themed island and eight cars: F40 Competizione, 250 GTO, LaFerrari, F50, Testarossa, Enzo, 12Cilindri, and Dino 206 GT. Ultimate Edition includes the pack; everyone else can buy it separately when it lands. Do not plan a five-island first night. The true Rush Master title wants all four launch islands.
Track Builder goes further: you attach modules to the ground, around buildings, and above the city, which is why the Track Builder guide reads differently from Unleashed. Hardware limits sit on platforms. Footage notes live on preview.
The archipelago is a playset lid, not a continent. Use the Launcher as a palette swap: Wheelswood when you want streets, Tentacle Bay when you want shoreline, Gearville when you want dirt and cranes, Drifty Temples when you want neon and canals. After you can name those four without checking this page, stop collecting skylines and start collecting a squad that can survive each of them. Calendar and SKU questions belong on release date and editions. Driving questions belong back on the guides hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
How many islands are in the base game at launch?
Four: Wheelswood, Tentacle Bay, Gearville, and Drifty Temples. Isola Ferrari is a Ferrari Expansion island for Ultimate Edition or a separate purchase, not a fifth launch map.
Is Citypark a fifth island?
No. Official materials have shown a Citypark logo, but Milestone press uses Tentacle Bay for the beach, park, and archaeological-park island. This wiki follows that press name.
How do I travel between islands?
The Launcher is a ramp/teleport system. Hit a ramp, leave the current island, land on another. You can jump at any time rather than waiting on a campaign gate. Learn one ramp per island in the first sessions.
Which island do I start on?
Wheelswood, the Hollywood-like toy metropolis. Getting Started is the first-hours plan for that city. The other three launch islands are reached through the Launcher.
Does each island have a boss?
Yes. Each launch island has a Rush Master. Complete events to unlock their challenge, beat them for a car and a title, beat all four to become the true Rush Master. See the Rush Master guide.
Should I clear one island before using the Launcher?
No. The Launcher is built for hopping. Finish enough events on an island when you want that Rush Master, not because the map demands a 100% stamp. Mix islands with challenges and a full Rush Squad.
